What Our Customers Are Saying: Real Reviews From West Valley Families

See what West Valley families say about Anne's Filipino Catering in Avondale, AZ. Eight five-star Google reviews from real parties, anniversaries, rehearsal dinners, and family gatherings.

What Our Customers Are Saying: Real Reviews From West Valley Families

Every time a new Google review comes in, I do not just read it myself. I share it with my mother-in-law.

She's the one who wakes up early to prep the lechon kawali until the skin crackles just right. She's the one who learned these recipes in Pangasinan, who carried them here, and who still cooks them by feel rather than by timer. When someone writes that the food tasted like home, like their lola's cooking, like something they hadn't tasted in years, she deserves to see that. The review isn't really for me. It's for her.

That's the part of this business that never gets old.

Eight Five-Star Reviews and What They Actually Mean

We've crossed eight five-star Google reviews now. I know that sounds like a small number compared to a restaurant that's been open for decades, but each one of ours came from a real event, a real family, a real moment that someone trusted us with. An anniversary. A rehearsal dinner. A graduation party. A family reunion where someone's tito flew in from out of town. These aren't casual takeout orders. People are betting their celebration on us, and that matters every single time.

Here's what some of those families said.

Bobby Cruz, Goodyear

Bobby reached out for his parents' 50th wedding anniversary. That's fifty years. He chose our Fiesta package, and I remember wanting to make sure every single tray was right because his whole extended family was going to be there, every tito and tita with an opinion about what real Filipino food should taste like.

Bobby wrote: "The food was just like what my lola used to make, authentic, generous, and made with so much love. Every tito and tita at the table was impressed."

That word "generous" means a lot to me. We don't skimp on portions. My mother-in-law would never allow it. When you pay for a tray of adobo, you get a full tray of adobo. And "every tito and tita was impressed" tells me the people at that table knew exactly what they were tasting and decided we got it right. Kami lahat ay natutuwa reading that.

Loovie L., Goodyear

Loovie had been looking for something she couldn't find anywhere in the West Valley: food that actually tasted Filipino. Not a restaurant that serves pancit once a week as a special. Real Filipino food, the kind you eat at a family gathering on a Sunday afternoon.

She texted me, and two days later she had trays on her table.

She wrote: "I'd been looking for real Filipino food in the West Valley for years. One text to Anne and two days later I had trays of adobo, pancit, and lumpia on my table. My lola would've approved. This is the taste of home I've been missing."

"My lola would've approved." I keep coming back to that line. That's the highest compliment anyone can give a cook who learned from her own family. When the food passes the standard of someone's lola, we did something right. Salamat, Loovie.

Eilsel C., Avondale

Eilsel found us at a vendor event, tried the food, and booked us for a party the following weekend. That's how it usually goes when people taste it for the first time. There's a short window between the first bite and the question "how do I book you?"

She wrote: "We tried the food at a vendor event and booked Anne on the spot for our party the following weekend. Guests came back for seconds. Someone asked for her number before they left. We've ordered three times since."

Three times since then. And "someone asked for her number before they left" made me laugh because I know exactly how that goes. I end up handing my number to someone's guest at half my events. I don't mind at all. That's how this business grows, one plate at a time, one referral at a time.

Paula, Repeat Customer

Paula didn't leave a long review, but what she wrote said everything.

"I think this 5th or 6th times we ordered and always delicious. Never failed and my family enjoy."

Five or six times. That's not a one-time catering order. That's a family that decided we're their go-to whenever they need a spread. "Never failed" is the kind of trust you can't buy with marketing or a pretty website. You earn it one order at a time, one delivery at a time. Paula's family enjoying the food, every single time, is exactly why we do this.

Belen

Belen kept it simple and honest: "Food is very good especially the egg rolls and lechon kawali."

Those two dishes come up constantly, and for good reason. The lumpia, what many people know as egg rolls, go ubos (completely gone) at every single event. I always tell customers to order more lumpia than they think they need because guests circle back for seconds and then thirds. You will never have lumpia left over. And the lechon kawali, the crispy pork belly, is one of the dishes my mother-in-law takes the most pride in. Getting that skin perfectly crisp while keeping the meat tender is not something you rush. She knows exactly how to do it.

Jaiden, Wedding Rehearsal Dinner in Sedona

Jaiden is a Google Local Guide with 51 reviews, which means he's been to a lot of places and he knows the difference between something that's just fine and something genuinely worth recommending. He came to us for a wedding rehearsal dinner and chose our Gathering package, scaled up to serve 50 guests.

Think about what that event meant: fifty people the night before a wedding. Everyone has somewhere to be the next morning. The food needs to be good enough to start the celebration right, and simple enough that the hosts aren't spending the whole evening managing logistics. The party drove to Sedona the next day, and I like to think the food set the right tone for the whole weekend. Jaiden trusted us with that. We didn't take it lightly.

Amber, Three Orders Over the Past Year

Amber has ordered from us three times in the past year and keeps coming back. New customers are exciting, but returning customers are the real measure of whether a business is doing something right. When someone has tried you, had a hundred other options available to them, and chose you again, that means something. Amber coming back again and again tells me we're earning that trust each time.

The Themes That Keep Coming Up

I read through all of these reviews and a few things show up in every single one.

The food is authentic. People who grew up eating Filipino cooking, who have a lola or a tita they're measuring us against, say it tastes right. That's not an accident. These are Pangasinan family recipes. My mother-in-law is a professional cook by trade, and she does not cut corners. What you taste is what the food is supposed to taste like.

The portions are generous. Nobody walks away saying they wished there was more food. We cook like we're feeding family, because in a way, we always are.

Ordering is easy and personal. Most people text me, I ask a few questions, we figure out the right package together, and everything is handled. There's no complicated process, no three-week lead time for a birthday party. A 48-hour notice is usually all we need for a standard order. You're talking to me, not a booking system.

It feels like someone cares. That comes through in the reviews without anyone spelling it out directly. People mention me by name. They say they texted Anne. They're not booking a catering company in the abstract. They're trusting a person, and I take that seriously every single time.

The Events We Serve

Just from this short list of customers: a 50th wedding anniversary, a years-long search finally satisfied, a vendor event discovery that became a three-time relationship, a family that has ordered five or six times and counting, a wedding rehearsal dinner for 50 guests heading to Sedona, and a year-long regular. These are real people, real occasions, real trust.

The events we serve across the West Valley include birthday milestones, anniversary dinners, graduation parties, office lunches, family reunions, holiday gatherings, and wedding rehearsal dinners. Wherever Filipino families, or any family that loves masarap na pagkain, are gathering in the West Valley, we want to be the food at that table.

Why People Come Back and Refer Friends

I could list a dozen reasons, but honestly it comes down to two.

The food is genuinely good. My mother-in-law cooks it that way, every time, without exception. That shows up in every review, in every repeat order, in every guest who walks up and asks for the caterer's number before they leave the party.

And the person behind it genuinely cares. I'm not managing a crew of strangers. I'm the one you text. I'm the one who confirms your order, checks that the package makes sense for your guest count, and follows up after the event. When something matters to your family, it matters to me.

That combination is what keeps people like Paula coming back for the fifth or sixth time, what keeps Amber ordering again and again, what turns a first taste at a vendor event into a three-time catering relationship.
